Math night

Golly oh my!  How we have looked forward to being involved in Laney's school activities.  Tonight was one of those nights.  It was math night.  She got to show us some of the things they do in math.  Laney had been BEGGING us to walk to school (we live 2 1/2 blocks from school) but we are always in such a rush in the morning we don't have time.  So, tonight we walked to her school.  BONUS...we avoided the tiny parking lot with horrible traffic!!

Don't tell Jeff...that is not a good picture but that is us walking to school!
This little girl was far ahead of us so excited!

Walking with dad.

She was so looking forward to seeing her friends and showing us math stuff (which she keeps telling me she really needs to practice!)

Bad iphone pictures but of course the pose with a hand on her hip.

Sitting next to a friend from her class.

Putting her numbers on her math mat.

Quite proud of herself.

Making a pattern.

Hmmm...that side chit chat we heard about at conferences?

So, that was math night.  It is so fun to see her as an absolute sponge.  She soaks up every bit of this learning in school.  I cannot believe how she is starting to read.  She comes home EVERYDAY...I mean every and has to do school work.  She teaches Connor and Claire.  I just love this girl and to see her get to be social and all this stuff she is learning is awesome.  She absolutely loves her teacher too!

Laney update!

Laney had her first Girl Scout Daisy meeting this weekend.  She was a little unsure at first.  We have been talking a lot about helping others and doing something each day to make the world a better place.  The kids read a story about bucket filling where you fill people's buckets with kindness and take from their bucket with mean stuff.  So, I thought Girl Scouts is a great way to do this good stuff.
As always, with something new, Laney was a bit standoff ish.

She joined in and sat with her group.  She spoke up and shared her name and where she goes to school.

So, I hope the experience turns out as well as it did for me when I was little.  I think back to our poor leader, Deb.  She took us on while she had (when she started with us) no kids of her own.  She eventually had 3 kids but stuck with our group until High School.  Man, those summer camps were fun.  Oh yeah, Girl Scout Cookies are a bonus too!

Oh, how I adore that Kindergarten handwriting.

Reading my mom's Dick and Jane books.  How I love that my mom still has those books!

She posed herself here.  She really got into the photo shoot!

We had a little back to school photo shoot for Miss Laney.  She loves school and is has been so excited to make new friends.

Ok, so ignore the white blur on my mom's camera!  But these 2 cuties were SOOO excited to go to my cousin's wedding and party.  Connor kept imitating the movie Rio and saying I wanna party!
My three sweeties in the pretty hills of southeast Nebraska!  You don't realize it until you are there how much you miss hills in the flat middle of Nebraska.

So, the 2 year olds got a bit bored at the wedding and played peek a boo!

The bubbles were a big hit with the kids!

The pretty bride!

So, sisters hugging brother or choking.  It was a day of love so will go with hugging!

The kids had SO much fun dancing and did not want to stop.  The twirled, spun and tore up the dance floor!

Claire was trying to give Connor a kiss and he said eww!

The twins dancing.

Cheese!

Connor likes to line things up, his cars or in this case the chairs.  He then would climb on them and jump off. Sometimes with a little push from his sister!

She stuck that landing!

On the say home Connor asked if he could go do that dancing again tomorrow!  So, who wants us to come tear up the dance floor at the next wedding??

Land of the free because of the BRAVE!

Happy Birthday America!
Do you think these little twins of mine would let me get a picture of them...nope!  Not, without a big ol truck in the picture.  That Connorman.  He sure is stubborn when it comes to taking pictures if he wants to be!  Then sometimes he is a complete flirt.  ugh

Little Claire has turned into my photo girl.  She asks to have her picture taken.

We took a little trip to walk around a lake.  These kids of mine loves exploring.  We will be taking a picnic lunch back out so they can explore when we have more time.

I love how in this picture Claire is cuddled to Laney but has total eye contact with Connor.  How did I get so lucky to have such cuties?

What.is.that???  All three looking at the camera.  No way!

Now, with a pretty background think they'd repeat that?  Nope!  Sillies!

The loved picking up rocks and sticks and throwing them in the lake.

Hmm...a little diva on my hands in the 5 year old of mine.

This guy spent HOURS on the 4th of July collecting rocks and throwing them in the lake.  If it resembles a sport he is in.

Seriously, when did she grow up so much?

Connor has a good supply of sticks to throw to the fish!

They are saying Happy 4th of July!!

My pretty girl...

And the other one...

Shouting at something?

We had a great 4th of July.  We watched fireworks at my Grandma's on the 3rd and went to Jeff's uncles on the 4th.  These kids of mine officially have their sleep schedules messed up after being up 2 nights in a row until 11pm!
